Healthy banana oat waffles recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, has no refined sugar, made in a blender, and it has collagen powder!
I use to always be afraid of making waffles or pancakes and truth be told I think pancakes are trickier than waffles! As long as you get the consistency of the waffle batter correct then they are so easy and quick to make. These healthy banana oat waffles are easy and healthy so let’s get to the ingredients.
Ingredients
- Bananas: you want them to be ripe because this is our sweeter!
- Eggs
- Oats: I use rolled oats
- Almond milk: I use unsweetened, use any kind of milk you like
- Vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- Baking powder: to make them fluffy!
- Collagen powder: you can use vanilla flavor protein powder as well
- Oil: to spray the waffle iron do they don’t stick
- Toppings: I used maple syrup, raspberries, blackberries, and hemp seed
Let’s make the banana oat waffles
You need a blender! I used my Vitamix, it blends everything so smooth so definitely worth the price. Add everything to the blender and blend your batter. Follow the waffle iron instructions and cook the waffles and lastly add your toppings and enjoy!
How to customize this recipe
You can always change the toppings! Add peanut butter or almond butter for extra protein. Fruits are usually a must for me for waffles and/or pancakes. You can even add protein or collagen powder to the recipe, just remember you’ll need to add extra milk so the batter won’t be too thick. For extra sweetness, maple syrup or honey are always a good option. Lastly, I add hemp seeds, but chia seeds will be great as well!
