Capri, heaven on earth! We did a day trip to Capri, but a note to self is to stay at least 1 night next time we visit Capri! If you’re visiting Amalfi Coast then do not skip Capri! I promise you will love it! It is beautiful, quiet, and the best way I can describe it is heaven on earth.
How to Get to Capri
We took the ferry from Sorrento to Capri. Ferry ride was about 20-25 minutes. You can also arrange a private boat from the coast to Capri, but of course ferry is cheaper. Once we got to Capri marina, we took the funicular to Anacapri. You can also take the taxi, but again funicular was cheaper. If you’re taking the ferry which most people do, check the times so you don’t miss the last ferry leaving Capri island. We had a sunset tour in Positano that day so we went to Positano from Capri in the afternoon.
First stop was coffee! We stopped at Caffe Caso. The cappicuno and espresso were both delicious. Once we had our morning coffee we were ready to explore the beautiful Capri. There is a beautiful church as you’re walking towards the Via Camerelle, which has many luxury brands. Enjoy the beautiful alleyways and all the beautiful stores. I don’t remember the name, but there is a bakery that has delicious sandwiches as you get closer to all the luxury stores!
Limoni di Capri
On our way to Giardini di Augusto, we stopped at Limoni di Capri lemonade stand. This is something you can’t miss! Capri has lemons everywhere so you have to drink a lemon drink from this stand. There is also a beautiful view so take your time enjoying the view.
Giardini di Augusto
Garden of Augusts (Giardini di Augusto) is a botanical garden. The garden has stunning views of the beautiful Capri blue waters. There is a small fee to enter the garden, but it’s definitely worth it so don’t skip this garden.
Caffè Augusto Capri
There are many restaurants along the marina grande. We just randomly chose Caffe Augusto Capri. We had their cocktail watermelon and cocktail melon sangria and both were good. They were a little pricey, but the presentation of them was so fun that we couldn’t not try them!
Notes
- Da Paolino, the famous restaurant with all the lemon trees. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to go, because we had a boat sunset tour reservations in Positano the evening we visited Capri, but if you go to Capri, then please go here for dinner! This is a popular restaurant in Capri and it’s definitely on my list for next time we visit Capri.
- Blue Grotto- so famous in Capri! Take a boat tour and visit the Blue Grotto. There is even Green Grotto!
- Chairlift in Anacapri- this will take you to Monte Solaro. I personally am scared of heights so I skipped this, but I’ve heard it isn’t that bad and goes slow and the view is worth it, so maybe next time I’m in Capri I will try this!
